An Alternative Approach to Erecting a Better Clothes Drying Rack

Use the support ropes as guylines! Pound in the stakes about 4 feet out from the center pole.  BACK TO: A BETTER CLOTHES DRYING RACK

Guylines Only
Just like holding a flagpole erect, there’s no need to attach the center pole to a pioneering stake or sink it into the ground.

  1. I love this design very much. I’m going to try teaching it to the scouts to use at summer camp. We always have our swimsuits draped over everything. My question: how are the triangles attached to the guy lines? They look like they might be clove hitches or round turns.

    1. They’re clove hitches, which can be used to optimally position the triangles. I don’t see a simple roundturn by itself providing the required gripping effect to keep the triangles stable.
